Meet Three Women Building Our Communities and Economy
Since 2015, the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth has supported Grameen America’s mission and work to support small businesses. Most recently, the Center for Inclusive Growth and its content partnership agency, Rooftop, collaborated with Grameen America to feature its impact.

Grameen America provides affordable capital, financial education, peer support, and access to limitless opportunity to our growing network of 230,000 women entrepreneurs and their communities. In ten years, with support from the Women Are Limitless campaign, we aim to invest $40 billion in 700,000 small business owners across the U.S.
Meet three women driving change in their communities:
Felicia is a lifelong New Yorker whose love for teaching comes from her mother, an educator herself. Felicia’s business started in her home and has transformed into a three-classroom daycare. Felicia is the proud mother of four children, including a son who teaches at her business.
“My motto is learners today, leaders tomorrow. These kids go to college. They’re in talented and gifted programs, and it makes me feel wonderful because I know I set the foundation. I know I instill the love of learning in them.”
When Ilian opened her store eight years ago, it felt like a second chance in life, allowing her to gain financial independence and support her three children.
“Small businesses make up a community. When you support a small business, you are supporting a family that is paying for the tuition of their children, for their food, and also for their time together.”
To create a community of like-minded creatives, Jasmine runs a membership-based creative studio that offers clients brand identity development, social media management, and production services.
