Jamie Alderslade
Vice President, External Relations
Jamie Alderslade is the Vice President of External Relations at Grameen America, where he leads the organization’s systems influence strategy and manages key relationships across all levels of government, federal regulators, national trade associations, and advocacy organizations. His work focuses on advancing Grameen America's mission and vision through strategic engagement and cross-sector partnerships that expand economic opportunity for low-income entrepreneurs.
Prior to joining Grameen America, Jamie held several senior roles at Citi's Community Investing and Development division, including Global Director of Impact and Insights and Head of U.S. Community Relations. At Citi, he led initiatives that promoted financial inclusion and economic empowerment across underserved markets. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of External Affairs at The Social Compact, Inc., a national coalition of business leaders focused on driving investment into low-income neighborhoods and communities of color. Jamie has also worked on equitable economic development initiatives in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Jamie’s expertise lies in making the business case for inclusive and equitable economic growth. He has testified before Congress on matters related to census equity and inclusion, and has been widely recognized for his contributions to urban policy and community development. In 2014, Next City named him one of its “40 Under 40 Urban Vanguards,” and he now serves as Vice Chair of the organization’s board. He was also a founding advisory board member of Boston University’s Initiative on Cities.
He holds a B.A. (Hons) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford.
