Grameen America Reaches Milestone in Charlotte
In its eight months of operation, Grameen America has provided over $500,000 to more than 500 low-income women in Charlotte, NC to build small businesses. Grameen America celebrated the members' early success with a celebration in May.
Hosted by Packard Place, the celebration brought together local members, supporters and staff. Grameen America’s CEO, Stephen A. Vogel, joined Charlotte staff to celebrate the local success and ongoing commitment of supporters. In particular, he thanked Joe Mynatt (Wells Fargo Managing Director), Tracey Greene-Dorsett (Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation Program Officer) and Sara Garces (Packard Place Co-Founder) for their help in bringing Grameen America to Charlotte.
Guests had the unique opportunity to hear directly from local members about the impact the program has had on their lives.
